My Big Fat Greek Wedding

I really liked this movie. It was so funny. Toula and her Greek family were very cute. I could not understand Greek guy's jokes, it was too black. I found Greek people were very activity, talk a lot and strong of religion.

I think this movie stands on a true story, but it may make big during making movie.

May be it can be happened today, somewhere religion have strong power.

2nd class

1.Death and Funerals
a.I have a host family in America. if my host family member died...
I am really sorry to hear that. I don't know what should I say for you, but only I can say to you is I had really good memories with you. I remember the time when we went to deer hunt. That was my first time to ride camping car and walk around the forest to hunt deer. You two tell me the new games, and treat me like your real daughter. I'm very pleased about that. 10 months, I was too childish and continually pester at you, so you would get mad but you didn't yell me. You just tell me what should I do and what I did wrong. Just before I went back to Japan, you took me gold beach. There were very beautiful and I cannot forget walking the beach in sunset. We stayed up late at the night and heard surf. At home, you always made jokes and people's smile. I said I'll take shower, you said You better use water. Christmas tree was amazing. We got tree from forest and bring it back to home and decorated. There are so many memories. we made jack-o-lantern, pop-corn, cherry pie, lasagna, steak, and so on. I wished I have stayed more. I hope the spirit goes to heaven.

b. Have you ever been to a foreign funeral?-No, I haven't.

2. The language of Clothes
a.I think Japanese like fashion, and following the trend is very popular and lots of people want to be more cute and fashionable in their clothes. Every year designer give us this years collection and this become that year's trend. So, Japanese are designer label crazy more than the other countries.
There is one proverb what parents tell their children when they were young. We need to think about the clothes for the time, place, and occasion. we can not wear jeans and t-shirts for work. It looks very rude, work is not play. so what you wear is very important.

b. “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.”
I think that means do not decide in one sight. Often we see the person's look and quickly decide what kind of person, and make decision like or dislike. But people are not so easy to understand. We need to talk and have communication lots, then know what the person is. So, I think this words mean do not judge the person in one sight.

1. Reflecting about today's class
I agree the idea of the Japanese concept of "wrapping", because the porch of Japanese house cannot see the inside. the example of wrapping is about clothes. when I went to America in summer, people in America wore no sleeve shirt, very short pants, and showing their stomach. lately, Japanese young woman wear like that clothes, but not so many people. so, i think this is the one thing that can be called "wrapping".

2. Preparation for the next class
a.when i die, I won't go anywhere. i just stay in the sky and wait until my spirit be born again.
b. Japanese have death memorial services after a person's death, to serve dinner and sutra recitation. This is for the memory of dead person and to appreciate for the person who came the funeral and priest.
